she's a rebel vigilante
she's the symbol of resistance
Hey there, I'm Jessica Vivien Knight, but I have quite a few nicknames ranging from Jess to Barbie. My mutant nickname is Element. I'm eighteen years old and my powers are element manipulation and omnilingualism. Yes, that means I can control the elements, so I honestly wouldn't suggest messing with me. I can also understand any spoken language, so don't try talking about me in Portuguese, or something similar. I can be rather hot-headed, which people seem to mistake for being a bitch, but I probably won't be mean to you unless you mess with me or my mates. I've lived on the island for five years now, and while that's less than some people, if you're new, I'm always here to help out. I'm originally from the countryside, just outside of London, though I haven't seen my old family or friends for quite some time... Anyways, I'd suggest talking to me, and most definitely not challenging me. Yeah. Oh, and I model in my spare time, which is why I may seem familiar. My alter-ego is Tyler Durden.

LOLOL JESS USED TO BE CALLED BARBIE NOT ANYMORE THOUGH I LOVE THAT SONG

I’ll be your crying shoulder | Danny & Jess

daniel-bledel:

The moment Daniel had caved and crowned her the better dancer of the two, there was no doubt a slight regret that he felt. But of course, it was dismissed almost as quick as it appeared. “This isn’t a usual thing, alright?” Daniel grinned, “Don’t get used to it.” It was hard to have a serious expression right now, especially at Jess’ reaction. It really was like a little child on Christmas. “I’m glad,” Daniel said shortly; it was nice to see her in good spirits. Especially when he didn’t have to manipulate her emotions to feel so. “You considered him a friend,” Daniel said, “Considered. So it was natural you’d tell him right? To you, it was just a friendly comment.” It was true, wasn’t it? No way did she know he’d just appear and kidnap and torture her. If she did, chances are she probably wouldn’t’ even utter a word to him. “And karma will come full circle and bite him in the ass,” Daniel finished, “Now let’s stop talking about that.” When she was playing with his hair, he couldn’t help but smile; when it came to his hair, most people usually liked to play with it – just to see if it felt the way they thought it did and such. “Alluring? Hah, I don’t think anyone would write a song about my hair, I’m afraid. It’s not that famous.” Which was of course, a slight lie – everyone knew Daniel for his hair; his mess of curly brown on his head. His hair was what made him recognizable on Elysium.

“For the love that is holy, please don’t ever talk like that again,” he pleaded, fighting back a laugh, “You can never be a – “Straight Up G”, I’m afraid. Sorry to burst your bubble.” He gave her a smug smirk, and her question towards him caught him off guard. “What suits you?” He mulled over the question in his head – what did suit Jessica Knight. “Anything but being gangster,” he finally said, coming to a conclusion, “Try Scottish, or Australian accents. Just not Gangster, yeah?” He raised his eyebrow questioningly, mirroring the female’s actions. He hadn’t known that she wanted him to sing to her so badly – nobody as ever been that interested in Danny’s singing voice before. Which was why he never sang in public; only in the shower, or when he was asked to – in the case of the first time Jessica asked him to sing for her. And he did, and now they were here. “Should I just compose a CD for you of me singing? For your birthday? Or Christmas? I’ll just cover a whole bunch of songs.” He wasn’t being completely serious, of course – but who knows, maybe it could be one of the things he could consider. Thinking of gifts for any occasion was not something Danny could easily do. “Hey, we’re all entitled to have cheesy moments in our lives,” he said, “I, in fact, have plenty of those moments.” A smirk crossed his lips; Dan was proud of his cheeseball moments. “The truth?” Daniel raised an eyebrow skeptively, trying to put what he meant into words, “Well, the truth is that you are better than you give yourself credit for,” he finally concluded. That was the best explanation he could come up with, without sounding too out there. Coming back to the Prince Charming topic, when she had mentioned that she might’ve already met him. “Who knows; he might be someone who sits behind you in class – and you’ll never know until the time’s right.” A slight shrug rolled off his shoulders.

With the silence that followed suit, Daniel wondered what was going through her mind. Even though she was still seated on his lap, he could still shift his position, without pushing her off. Through the dimmed lighted room, Daniel could still see Jess’ face clearly – maybe because she was quite close to his own. “What are you thinking about?” The question left his lips before he could stop himself; he was curious as to what was going through her head. “I mean, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to…” When she had moved a strand of his hair away from his face, his smile was still prominent on his face – his dimples coming through. Realizing that he had been staring absent-mindedly towards the blonde mutant, Danny quickly glanced away, his eyes landing on the TV screen in front of him; except that he wasn’t actually seeing what was playing on screen. To him, it was merely colours buzzing across the screen, nothing going into his head.

Licking his lips to moisten them, he was glad he had said all he wanted. Awaiting her reply, Daniel tapped his fingers on his lap. “Well, that’s a problem,” Daniel mused, “You’re hungry – but you don’t want me to move. Hmm.” Pressing his lips into a thin line, he then glanced back at his kitchen. “I don’t even know what I have in there,” he said, shrugging, “Oh well. Let’s go find out.” Moving around in his seat, he positioned his hands so that he could easily lift Jess up. Standing up, he carried her towards the kitchen, turning on the light as he entered. The bright light was blinding, but the brunette’s eyes soon adjusted to it. Settling Jessica down on one of the kitchen chairs, he walked towards the fridge, opening it up. There were no leftovers, surprisingly, so their only option was to cook something. “Hmm, I can cook something for you, if you’d like,” Daniel offered, “Providing I don’t burn anything…” Cooking was not one of Dan’s best skills; sure, he could make the basics of two-minute noodles and fried eggs, but anything lavish, he never could. It just wasn’t in his blood to cook – his parents usually had a chef to cook for them. “So, which would you prefer? Fried eggs or two-minute noodles? Or, I guess I can try making something more extravagant.” Leaning against the kitchen counter, he folded his arms across his stomach, waiting for her to decide.

“Yeah, sure it isn’t,” Jessica replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes as a victorious grin remained fixed on her still chapped lips. “All I need to do is give you that little look, and you’ll melt. I’m adorable, don’t forget that.” She wiggled her eyebrows playfully, feeling happy to have forgotten about what had landed her next to him in the first place, at least for a little while. “I suppose I’ll just have to… wait until there’s another opportunity to use it, yeah? And then I’ll prove myself, and you’ll be wrong, and I’ll just laugh at you. Then probably give you another hug for letting me win. So, in the end, we’ll both be happy. Win-win!” Grinning, she patted him on the head as if she were petting a dog before letting out a light giggle, allowing herself to feel ridiculously excited about something that really didn’t even matter. “Yeah, I mean, kind of. We were never the best of mates, but he made a comment about running, and I… got excited because no one I know loves running, so we ended up talking about it—he didn’t even really like it, but I should’ve guessed something was up when he started asking all those questions… I was just too stupid not to,” the mutant said miserably, hanging her head in shame as she resisted the urge to pull a Narrator and punch herself in the face. Probably have enough marks as it is, yeah? “Yeah, you know, if I change my name to Karma,” she joked halfheartedly, giving him a glum smile before nodding at his proposition to stop talking about it. “Yeah, let’s. Sorry, I… I know it must be a pain in the arse to hear about it. It’s a pain in the arse to even think about it on my end,” Jess apologized, rubbing the back of her sore neck before mentally repeating the words scarred on her forearm. “I would write a song about your hair, if I could,” she said defensively, still playing with his hair, mesmerized by the feel of it. “I love it.” And she honestly did—playing with it, at least. It made him look quite fit as well; she wouldn’t mind playing about with it on a daily basis, actually. Now that’s just creepy, Jess. Stop that. So, begrudgingly, she dropped her hands, listening to the naggy voice in her head rather than going on with her entertaining distraction.

Letting out an annoyed, exasperated sigh, she shot him a reproachful look before shrugging her shoulders in defeat. “Yeah, well, you’ll never be one either. You’re like, the opposite of a G. You’re like…” She took a moment to count from seven backwards on the alphabet before continuing with the same mockingly spiteful tone, “You’re a U. That’s right. You, sir, are a U. I’m closer to being a G than you. Or, rather, I’m farther, but it’s because I’m an X and X’s are cool. So… hah.” It took all the effort Jessica had to keep herself from smiling, and it made it even harder that she felt so compelled to look at the proclaimed ‘U’ all the while; in order to try and fight the urge, she turned her gaze towards Maleficent, only to wind up staring right back at Danny again a mere moment later, a small smirk on her lips as she swallowed her giggles. “I’m fantastic at Scottish accents. You know what you should try? Doing a Southern accent. I’m sure it’d be hilarious for me to watch,” she replied in her best Scottish accent, one she had picked up due to the various Scots she had in her family. “Oh, come off it,” Jess began, furrowing her brow as she gave him a sad look. “My birthday is far too long from now, and Christmas is as well. How about as a graduation present? I’d have to figure out what to get you as well, but, y’know, I can be somewhat creative when it comes to presents.” She gave him a small, encouraging smile, licking her lips as she tried not to blush at the idea of owning a C.D. full of Daniel Bledel’s voice; the mutant had always had a bit of a soft spot for musicians, after all. Nodding at his comment, she didn’t dare deny it, as he was one of the cheesiest blokes she had even encountered; though, she would have been lying had she claimed not to appreciate him even more because of it. “That you do, my friend, that you do.” However, his next answer surprised the girl, and she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and let her jaw drop ever so slightly. Struggling for a moment with what to say, she then opted to avoid getting into it, not wanting to look like she was fishing for compliments or anything of the sort. “Right, well… Yeah. Anyways,” Jessica said lamely, her pitch going up towards the beginning of the last word in an incredibly awkward manner. Or someone closer, she couldn’t help but think to herself at his class comment, eying him intently before realizing what she was doing. Shaking her head, she fixated her gaze on anywhere but the empath, trying to forget that she had just implied he was her ‘Prince Charming.’

Stumbling out of her thoughtful state at his question, Jess looked at him as she grappled with her words, finding them flowing to the tip of her tongue only to be swallowed right back down again as her thoughts protested their use. “Well, I… quite a bit, actually. I’m thinking about quite a bit,” she replied sheepishly, feeling her skin tint with blush once more as she resisted the urge to crawl under one of the couch cushions and hide from the lame answer she had supplied. “No, no, don’t worry, it’s fine… I should tell you.” Breathing in deeply, she attempted to calm her nerves as she closed her eyes, only opening them again when she did the same with her mouth as she began to speak. “I’m really hoping this isn’t a dream. I know, it sounds… pathetic, okay? But I’m kind of scared I’m just going to wake up down… down there again, and you’re not going to be here, and I’m going to be alone with… with him and all those horrid creatures and… I really fancy you, Danny,” she said breathily, her eyes wide as she recognized her emotions aloud, her stomach churning in anticipation of his reaction. “Just… Promise me you’re not just telling me all this to make me feel better. I’m not saying you’re a liar, okay? Just… Like I said, it’s all just a bit hard for me to register as the truth.” Jessica willed him to say something, anything, to silence her doubts for a few moments, wanting to do nothing but go back to the peace they had shared mere seconds before she had stupidly voiced her fears.

Jess let out a little squeal as he picked her up again, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck, pleasantly surprised by his actions. As she was sat down in the chair, she stared at him open-mouthed, astonished by how he managed to trigger such a wide range of emotions inside of her, and shocked by the fact that, while it made her uncomfortable, she seemed to… enjoy it. Shaking her head at his offering to cook, she felt the urge to help, and, after quickly surveying the surfaces in the room, she used her chair to push herself up, moving rapidly to the countertop from her previously seated position. Although her legs were weak, she managed to work her way to where the empath was leaning, standing in a manner that almost overlapped him, one hand clinging to either side of the countertop beside him. “How about this,” she began, wincing slightly from the movement, though starting to find herself a bit more comfortable as the moments went by. “You let me cook, considering I’m quite good at it, and, before you protest, it’ll be my way of… repaying you for being so nice to me. For taking care of me.” Jessica gave him a smile, licking her lips before continuing, “Because, to be honest, I hate feeling useless. So, I might as well, y’know… give myself some purpose, yeah?” Raising her eyebrows, she cracked her neck both ways before looking at Daniel again, waiting for his reply. “Sounds like a plan? Great. So, show me what you’ve got.”
